Varies Center Point's mission is to provide comprehensive social, educational, vocational, medical, psychological, housing and rehabilitation services to combat social problems such as substance abuse, poverty, unemployment and homelessness.
Center Point is seeking compassionate and enthusiastic individuals with a desire to teach to join one of our exciting teams as an AOD Counselor at our Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program located in Fair Oaks, CA.
The AOD Counselor is responsible for conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, preparing for and conducting psychosocial groups, case management tasks, and other tasks associated with this role.
Additionally, the AOD Counselor must be prepared to address client incidents, household emergencies and client crises when they arise, dispense medication, and, when necessary contact the Program Manager or other Management staff.
Duties:
Make hourly safety and security rounds.
Supervise clients and ensure that clients adhere to the activity schedule.
Wake residents according to schedule and program needs.
Completes assigned administrative tasks.
Thorough exchange of shift information with staff on other shifts.
Complete incident reports as required and briefs Program Manager on all concerns.
Fill out nightly shift reports and where necessary, incident reports.
Briefs Program Manager and Supervising Counselor on pertinent client and facility concerns.
Prepare for and deliver Psychoeducational Groups.
Managing documentation in hard copy client folder and in web based program.
Conduct urine analysis sampling and testing and alcohol testing.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Transports clients as needed.
Other duties as required.
Minimum
Qualifications:
At least 21 years of age and possess as a minimum a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Registered or Certified with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS.
Trained and certified in CPR and the administration of first aid services within 30 calendar days.
Able to obtain and maintain criminal justice clearance.
